This is a plain-English summary, not a legal document. We've tried to write what we actually do in clear Canadian English. If anything reads ambiguous to you, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
Welcome to Lowest Rates Hub. These terms govern how you use our website, mobile experience, and the quote comparison tools we offer (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Lowest Rates Hub Inc., a Canadian company headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
Acceptance
These terms form a legal agreement between you (“you,” “your”) and Lowest Rates Hub Inc. (“we,” “us”). By visiting the site, requesting a quote, or creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, a Canadian resident, and able to enter a binding contract under Canadian law. If you don't agree with any part of these terms, please don't use the Service.
Use of the platform
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose: comparing insurance quotes, learning about coverage, and connecting with licensed advisors. In exchange, please don't:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Try to scrape, copy, or republish our quote data, blog content, or design system without written permission.
- Interfere with the Service, attempt to break it, or use it to host your own automation against our carriers.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any other person or business.
We may suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you're breaking these rules.
Comparison disclaimer
Quotes shown on the Service are estimates generated from carrier rate tables and the information you provide. They are not binding offers of insurance. Final premiums, coverage, and eligibility are determined by the underwriting carrier after a full application. Estimates can change based on medical history, lifestyle factors, or carrier underwriting decisions outside our control.
We compare quotes from a curated set of Canadian insurers, currently more than 25. We do not guarantee that the carriers we work with offer the lowest possible rate in the entire Canadian market. Insurance products are underwritten and distributed by IDC Worldsource and partner insurers.
Account terms
Some features of the Service require an account. When you create one, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current information.
- Keep your password reasonably secure.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect someone else is using your account.
- Use one account per person — no sharing accounts among friends or family.
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We'll deactivate your login and delete or anonymize your data in line with the Privacy Policy.
Communications consent (CASL)
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires us to obtain your consent before sending you commercial electronic messages. By requesting a quote, asking us to call you back, or subscribing to our newsletter, you give us express consent to:
- Send you the quote summary and policy materials you asked for.
- Have a licensed advisor follow up with you by phone, text, or email.
- Send you occasional educational content and product updates that may be useful given your stated interests.
Every commercial email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Transactional messages (quote confirmations, password resets, policy documents) will continue regardless of marketing preferences, because they are necessary to deliver the Service.
Intellectual property
Lowest Rates Hub, the Lowest Rates Hub logo, our brand colours, our original blog content, and the design and code that power the Service are owned by Lowest Rates Hub Inc. You may not copy, modify, republish, or use them commercially without our written permission. Carrier logos shown on the Service belong to their respective owners and are used under licence.
You retain ownership of any information you submit. You grant us a limited, royalty-free licence to use that information to operate the Service and to improve it (with all personal identifiers removed).
Limitation of liability
We work hard to keep quotes accurate and the Service running, but we offer it “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim — which is usually zero, since the comparison tool is free.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that cannot be excluded by law, like fraud or gross negligence.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.
Governing law (Ontario)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will be heard exclusively by the courts of Ontario, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms occasionally to reflect changes in the Service or in the law. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date and post the new version here. If the change is material, we'll give you notice — for example, an in-app banner or an email to your account address — and a chance to review before the change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change becomes effective, you accept the new terms.
