This is a plain-English summary, not a legal document. We've tried to write what we actually do in clear Canadian English. If anything reads ambiguous to you, email [email protected] and we'll explain.
This policy applies to our lead-buying program — the part of our business where licensed Canadian insurance advisors and partner agencies receive contact details for Canadians who have asked to be connected with an advisor. If you're a regular site visitor and haven't requested an advisor callback, our standard Privacy Policy is the document you want.
Scope
This policy is in addition to (not instead of) our main Privacy Policy. Both apply when you submit a quote and ask to be contacted by a licensed advisor. Where the two documents overlap, the more protective term applies.
Lowest Rates Hub Inc. complies with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws. The lead program is run from our Mississauga, Ontario head office.
What's collected from leads
When you ask to speak to a licensed advisor, the information collected and shared as a “lead” typically includes:
- Your name.
- The phone number and email address you gave us.
- Your postal code or city and province.
- The product you asked about (for example, term life, super visa travel, group benefits).
- A short summary of your quote inputs — coverage amount, age band, and similar underwriting basics — so the advisor can prepare a relevant conversation.
- The day and time you submitted the request (used to honour do-not-call windows).
We do not share your medical history, your income, or any payment details as part of a lead. Those, where required, are collected directly by the carrier during the formal application stage.
How leads are sold and to whom
We share each lead with one or more licensed Canadian advisors or partner agencies that:
- Hold a current insurance licence in your province of residence.
- Have signed our partner agreement, which requires them to comply with PIPEDA, CASL, and provincial regulator rules.
- Have agreed to our acceptable-use rules, including how soon they may call you (typically within one business hour) and how often they may follow up if they can't reach you.
Some leads are sold exclusively to one advisor; some are shared with up to a small group of advisors who compete to give you the best price. If you have a strong preference, tell us before you submit — or just call us directly at 647-362-5511.
Lead-buyers pay us a fee for the introduction. They do not pay extra if you buy a policy. You never pay a fee for the introduction itself.
Lead-buyer obligations
Every advisor or partner agency that receives a lead from us is contractually required to:
- Use the data only to contact you about the product you asked about and to advise on related coverage you reasonably ask about.
- Keep your information confidential and store it securely.
- Not resell, repackage, or distribute the lead.
- Honour any unsubscribe or do-not-contact request within seven days, and tell us when they receive one.
- Comply with the National Do Not Call List (DNCL), CRTC telemarketing rules, and CASL.
- Carry their own errors-and-omissions insurance and provincial licensing in good standing.
Partners who breach these obligations are removed from the program. If you believe a partner has misused your information, please tell us at [email protected].
Right to withdraw
You can withdraw from the lead program at any time:
- Reply “STOP” to any text message from us.
- Click the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Call us at 647-362-5511 and ask to be removed.
- Email [email protected]with the subject line “Withdraw lead.”
We'll process the withdrawal within two business days and notify any partner who already received your information that they should stop contacting you.
Data handling
Lead data is stored on encrypted Canadian and US-based cloud infrastructure with strict access controls. Only employees and partners who need access to do their jobs can see lead data, and every access is logged.
We retain lead records for seven years after the last contact. This matches the record-keeping requirements imposed on licensed advisors by provincial regulators and supports regulatory audits if needed.
